Shining Stars was founded in 2002 and began in the home of Trish Murphy. She started this wonderful journey with the support of lifelong friends Christine, our director, and Sue, one of our Assistant Directors!
Over the years Shining Stars has outgrown not only the Murphy home, but a Central Street location, and most recently, the former Evans School on East Denver Street in Saugus.
Now Trish and her much-expanded Shining Stars family have found a permanent home in Cliftondale Square and could not be more proud of the newly renovated building that Shining Stars proudly calls home!
In this picture featured in an article by the Saugus Advertiser, Trish is standing in front of what will become the Older Toddler room behind her!
Our dedicated staff is the heartbeat of our school! Several have been with us since our opening day in 2002! Our Director, Miss Christine, and Assistant Director Miss Sue have been with Shining Stars since the beginning! Many staff have been with SSLC for 10-plus years!

The connections are so strong at Shining Stars that two of these children actually grew up to work at Shining Stars! One of them is still working here while working on her college degree! It is not unique to find out that an assistant teacher at SSLC is a former student!
